Dubai Visa Requirements and Application Procedures Eligibility
Most foreign people require a visa is order to travel freely in United Arab Emirates. With possession of a visa foreigners can visit any of the seven emirates including Umm Al Quwain, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Fujairah, Sharjah, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimahah without any restriction.
Who will require a Visa?
The citizens of following countries are availed with free UAE visas on arrival to any of the seven emirates:
Afghanistan
France
Italy
Germany
Netherlands
Belgium
Luxembourg
Switzerland
Austria
Sweden
Norway
Denmark
Portugal
Ireland
Greece
Cyprus
Finland
Malta
Spain
Monaco
Vatican City
Iceland
Andorra
San Marino
Liechtenstein
US
Canada
Australia
New Zealand
Japan
Brunei
Singapore
Malaysia
Hong Kong
UK
Citizens of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and other member states of Arab Gulf Co-operation Council do not require any visa.
Required necessary documents:
The following documents are necessary for issue of visa:
• Passport
• 2 passport sized photographs
• Completely filled visa application form along with two photocopies
• Sponsorship letter or fax from the sponsoring company of UAE
• Letter from the applicant’s company along with photocopies of the same
Time required for issuing a visa:
Time required in issuing a visa may vary from 3 to 10 days. If all the documents are submitted in order then an applicant can receive his/her visa within 72 hours of submission. For urgent cases, visas can also be issued within 24 hours of submission.
Costs involved in issuing a visa:
Based on nationality and the type of visa required, the visa issuing costs may vary US $28 to US $200 per person.
Validity of visa:
The Dubai Naturalization and Residency Department (DNRD) is the organization which is responsible for issuing visas to travelers. Depending on the type of visa issued, the validity of visa may vary from 4days to 3 years. Further, Transit Visas have a validity period of 4 days while Visit Visas have a validity of 14days and Residence Visas are valid for a 3 year period.
Note: Visitors can be charged severely for overstay. Penalty charges of up to US$28 per day can be levied up on the person.
