Hong Kong Visa Requirements and Application Procedures Eligibility

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) of the People's Republic of China is the sole organization that is responsible for issuing visas to travelers. 

Who will require a Visa?
Denizens of over 170 countries can enter into Hong Kong without any restrictions. Nationals of the following countries can travel for specific period of time without requiring a visa:

Required necessary documents:
The following documents are necessary for issuing a visa:
•    A passport with at least 6 months validity
•    Sufficient funds to bear all personal expenditure for the intended duration of stay
•    Confirmed onward/return tickets
•    Completely filled Visa application form along with 2 photocopies of the same
•    Two recent passport size photographs

Time required for issuing a visa:
Depending on the type of visa and nationality of the applicant, it may take up to 8 weeks to get a visa.

Costs involved in issuing a visa:
The costs involved may vary according to the type of visa applied by an applicant. For single entry it costs HK$150, for double entry it costs HK$220 and HK$400 for multiple entry visa. Further, an additional HK$150 per person is charged for Express service and HK$250 per person is charged for Rush services.

Validity of visa:
Validity of the visa depends upon the nationality and type of visa applied by the applicant. The validity of visa varies from 14 to 90 days per issue.
