Japan Visa Requirements and Application Procedures Eligibility
In order to make a stay at Japan for a certain period of time, it is necessary to know which category best fits you otherwise you will be unable to obtain a Japanese visa for yourself. There are about 27 categories of visa for a stay in Japan. However, broadly the status for residing in Japan can be categorized into three. The working visa allows you to stay in Japan for work. The second category is the non-working visa which does not allow you to work during your stay at Japan. The last category is the visa granted on the basis of family status.
The single-entry visa allows you to enter the country single time and is valid for a period of three months. The double-entry visa allows you to make a stay for six months and the last is the multiple-entry visa valid for twelve months and allows you to enter any number of times in Japan.
For obtaining a visa, you must have a valid passport. An application form with passport size photograph along with valid passport with full one blank page, return ticket, proof of funds for stay in Japan and visa payment fees must be submitted at the Japanese embassy in your country. The tourist visa and student visa is valid for 90 days.
Before submission of the application form for Japan visa, you must obtain a certificate of eligibility issued by a regional immigration authority under the Ministry o Justice. However, there is no need of a certificate of eligibility for obtaining a Tourist visa and Working Holiday visa. If you wish to stay even after the expiry of your visa, the term can be renewed by submitting an application and required documents at the Immigration office. There are no limitations whatsoever in the number of times your Japan visa can be extended.
