New Zealand Visa Requirements and Procedures

New Zealand visa can be issued to foreigners depending upon their duration of stay and nationality of their country. Residents of certain countries can stay for specific period of time and do not require a visa for their stay in New Zealand.

Who will require a Visa?
Denizens of the following countries do not require a visa to enter into New Zealand: 
Andorra
Ireland
Portugal
Argentina
Israel
Qatar
Austria
Italy
San Marino
Bahrain
Japan
Saudi Arabia
Belgium
South Korea
Singapore
Brazil
Kiribati
Slovenia
Brunei
Kuwait
South Africa
Canada
Liechtenstein
Spain
Chile
Luxembourg,
Sweden
Denmark
Malaysia
Switzerland
Finland,
Malta
Tuvalu
France
Mexico
Germany
UAE
Monaco
Uruguay
Greece

Citizens of countries which are not listed above require a visa to enter into New Zealand.

Required necessary documents:
Necessary documents required by foreigners to apply for a visa are:
•    A passport
•    Completely filled visa application form
•    Recent passport size photograph
•    Sufficient money to stay for intended period of time and
•    An onward or return travel ticket
•    Medical Certificate
•    Police Certificate
•    Students are required to show their confirmation letter issued by the educational institute.

Time required for issuing a visa:
It may take up to 3 weeks to issue a New Zealand visa. Visitors are advised to keep sufficient amount of time in hand.
 
Costs involved in issuing a visa:
It takes £35 in issuing a visa. But a waiver can be offered on this amount to visitors according to their nationality.
 
Validity of visa:
Citizens of the above listed countries can stay up to a maximum period of 3 months. They can also apply for an extension, upon which they can stay up to 9 months in New Zealand.
Citizens of countries which are not listed above can stay for 9 months only.

Note: Foreigners willing to travel must contact local embassy for the latest visa forms. Visitors can be seriously punished for overstay.
