Required necessary documents:
Foreigners traveling into Singapore have to go through an immigration clearance procedure. The Immigration & Checkpoint Security officers then grant social visit passes to the visitors. Other basic and necessary documents required for entry include:
• A passport with at least 6 months validity
• Flu Vaccination Certificate
• Confirmed onward/return tickets
• Necessary funds to last for the intended period of stay in Singapore
• Completely filled Embarkation/Disembarkation Card
Time required for issuing a visa:
Time required to issue a visa may vary from 4 to 30 days. Because of various document verifications and other legal issues it is advisable to travelers to have sufficient amount of time in hand.
Costs involved in issuing a visa:
The current cost for issuing a visa varies from person to person. The cost is S$30 for students and S$40 for business and social visitors.
Validity of visa:
Visa validity varies from person to person. A social visitor’s visa is valid for 3 months while 6 months visa validity is granted for a performer or an artist.
Note: Visitors can be severely punished for overstay. If the visitors are required to stay beyond the expiring time limit then they must apply for an extension.
