Bangladesh Visa Requirements and Procedures

The Immigration Authority of Bangladesh is the sole organization that deals with all the processing and issuing of visas. Visitors must satisfy all the necessary formalities for a legal and safe stay in Bangladesh.

Who will require a visa?
Nationals of the following countries do not require a visa in order to stay in Bangladesh:
 
Bhutan
Barbados
Botswana
Burkina Faso
Cyprus
Fiji
Western Samoa
Tonga
Sierra Leone
Lesotho
Zambia
Tanzania
Kenya
Grenada
Papua New Guinea
Seychelles
Gambia
Guinea
Guinea-Bissau
Jamaica
Mauritius
Malawi
Maldives
Singapore
Switzerland
St. Kitts and Nevis
Ghana
Gabon
 
Inhabitants of all other countries require a visa to enter into Bangladesh.

Required Necessary Documents:
The necessary documents required for the issue of visa are:
•    A passport with a minimum of 6 months validity
•    Completely filled visa application form along with two photocopies attached to it
•    2 passport size photographs
•    Photocopies of onward or return airline tickets
•    Sufficient amount of money to bear all personal expenses during the stay
•    Letter from the applicant’s company along with photocopies of the same
•    Completely filled Credit Card Authorization form

Time required for issue of Visa

The time required for issuing a visa may vary with a minimum of 3 days to a maximum of 3 weeks depending upon the nationality and profession of the applicant. The visa processing time is about 2 to 3 weeks for Non-British citizens and for journalists it may take up to 3 weeks time in order to process and issue a visa.

Costs involved in issuing visa:
The costs involved in processing and issuing a visa depends upon the type of visa applied for.  For UK citizens the cost for single entry visa is £40, for double entry visa is £52, for triple entry is £75 and is £104 for multiple entry visas. The prices of Tourist and Business visa may vary according to the citizenship of the applicant.

Validity of Visa:
The validity of visa depends upon the type of visa issued. A single entry visa is valid for 3 months, double entry visa is valid for 6 months and multiple entry visas are valid for 12-month period.
