Thailand Visa Requirements and Application Procedures Eligibility
The Royal Thai Embassy or The Royal Thai Consulate General are the organizations who are responsible for issuing a Thai Visa.
Who will require a visa?
Nationals of the following countries do not require a visa in order to stay in Thailand for a specific period of time:
Australia
Austria
Bahrain
Belgium
Brazil
Brunei Darussalam
Canada
Denmark
Finland
France
Germany
Greece
Hong Kong (SAR)
Iceland
Indonesia
Ireland
Israel
Italy
Japan
Kuwait
Luxembourg
Malaysia
Monaco
Netherlands
New Zealand
Norway
Oman
Philippines
Portugal
Qatar
Singapore
South Africa
Sweden
Switzerland
Turkey
United Arab Emirates
United Kingdom
United States of America
Vietnam
Citizens of all other countries are required to issue visa in order to enter into Thailand.
Required Necessary Documents:
The necessary documents required for the issue of visa are:
• A passport with a minimum validity of 6 months
• Completely filled visa application form along with photocopies of the same
• Passport sized photographs (4 x 6 cm)
• Return or onward travel tickets
• Proof of sufficient funds to bear all personal expenses during the period of stay (10000 Baht per person and 20000 Baht for whole family)
• Documents such as Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, bank statements and copy of work permit and Letter from institute, company or any Thai organization are required to issue a Non-Immigrant Visa.
• Visa processing fee
Time required for issue of Visa:
The time required to issue visa can vary between 2 to 10 days. If an applicant applies for a visa in person, then he/she can receive a isa in 2 to 3 days time, and if applied through post then the issuing of Visa may take up to 10 days of time.
Costs involved in issuing visa:
The costs involved in issuing Transit, Tourist and Non-Immigrant Single-entry Visa are 800, 1000 and 2000 Baht respectively. It can take up to 5000 Baht to issue a Multiple-entry Transit, Tourist and Non-Immigrant visa.
Validity of Visa:
The Validity of a visa depends upon the nationality and type of visa issued by the applicant. The validity of a Transit Visa is 3 months, whereas a Tourist Visa is validity between 3 and 6 months. Non-Immigrant Single-entry and Multiple-entry Visas are valid up to 3 months and 1 year respectively.
